Picture this.. we go to the bus stop and it turns out we got there 3 minutes to late so we had to wait 15 minutes for the next one... then I notice Pablo didn't have his wallet so he goes back home to pick it up while Avi and I stay there.. All is good, we get on the bus and once we reach the train station we go to catch our train.. While on the train I notice that I don't have my wallet (I hadn't needed it since  we traveled with Pablos's Job ticket ) but we did need my wallet because I had Pablo's card in it and he didn't have any cash on him. So we got off at the next stop, Hochspeyer, and took the next train to Kaiserslautern.  By the time we got home it was lunch time, so we decided go grocery shopping and reschedule the trip for another day instead. I've decided to catch you up on what we did in the cities we visited near Kaiserslautern while living there.  The first day trip we took was to Mannheim, but it was a quick one, we had an appointment at hospital and that's basically all we did, so it doesn't really count since Avi and I didn't do much exploring. But it all changed once Pablo got his job ticket the first place we wanted to see was Heidelberg, since many people had mentioned this pretty city and its castle to us. With recommendations like that what more can you ask for!? As soon as we arrived we took a bus to the Altstadt (which was the last stop) and looked for a place to eat. Then we walked around and made the hike up to the castle's garden for what could have been a great view of the city, if only we had visited on a non-rainy day! We spent our last weekend in Hamburg at a friends house wrapping up our packing and organizing everything. After that we went downtown while we waited to meet up with other friends and their kids. We walked around the stadtpark while the kids played with the snow. It was fun and Avii got to say goodbye to some of her friends. As of Monday we are officially in our new city. It feels so surreal, we are staying in the university's guest house until we get the key to our apartment on Friday. We move in over the weekend and then start buying furniture and everything little by little. A photo posted by diana L. I'm linking up to Travel Tuesday today and since it is the first one of the month it is prompted. and today's prompt is: unexpected destinations. Last year we went to Berlin with the schönes wochenende ticket and we had to change trains around half way there. We just took our train and continued on with our trip. Later that year a friend posted pictures of a castle in that same little town we had changed trains in. I knew we just had to go visit.  This February, a friend came to Hamburg for work, so we decided we would take a day trip to Schwerin along with some other friends.  The city itself is really peaceful, it is slow paced not all fast like a big city, while there is a tram and buses it is very walkable. The main item on our list was the castle, which was built between 1845 and 1857, but the first records of a castle at this location date from AD 973 It is very pretty and totally worth the detour if you're travelling through ...

If you happen to be in Hamburg for an extended stay during the summer I definitely recommend taking a day trip to visit a beach. I mean, the days are long, it's super hot, and there's no a/c. What better reason do you need?  There are many beaches in and around Hamburg & there is also the option to go to a Freibad ( swimming pool , but we haven't visited one yet, so I don't have any recommendations). Last July during Avi's ferienwoche we went to Scharbeutz Strand (which back then I called Scherbatsky because I could never remember the name).  I wrote a recap about the whole week and mentioned this trip on that post, you can find pictures there too.

I didn't get to upload a travel post yesterday since I went to the HMM in  Eppendorf , but you can find my guest post on Cosmos Mariners, it is about a walking tour around Hamburg , hope you enjoy it! I marked the first six stops. Yesterday we were traveling a long way via bus and it got me thinking, if I continue going to these weekly meetings and they are in a different part of the city, maybe I could do a little review about it so my readers could see more of the city we currently live in.  

Today our trip begins, currently we're on the train to Bremen, I am feeling much better than I was earlier this morning! Yesterday we did some last minute shopping, we had to buy a UK adapter since we've never been there and only had one (it was included in or converter kit we bought before moving to Germany). I have my guide book made by Kathryne K.  Stop by her page she has a lot of cool travel tips .sadly, I was unable to print it out as I had planned, but I did have a copy of it saved in all of our devices, no need to get lost! As you can assume I will not be updating my blog as often during the next two weeks, but I do plan on telling you more about our trip once we get back! Do you have any trips scheduled this summer?

Today we went to the airport to pick up my little sister. then we came home, had dinner and spent the night watching a movie and talking! tomorrow is a holiday here in Germany, so we plan on going around town! then later, maybe once we come back from our trip we will take Sandemans free tour! :)

I've thought it over and decided I will put my 30x30 challenge on hold until further notice. I was able to do 15 days, so I'm going to keep it at that, half the challenge complete; & later in the year I will do the second half.  At least I got through May!  ----------------- What I will be doing is linking up with #TravelTuesday  for the first time, Stay posted! I had tweeted that my post titles would be  related  to TV Shows, did you notice my May post titles?  Yeah, you got it, the show of the month was How I Met Your Mother !  During May I watched NBC's Chuck , it was a really good show. I could maybe write a post about it but It would contain spoilers, if you haven't seen it yet. Maybe I'll hold off on that til later.  Anyways,   that'll be June's post title inspiration. but instead of labeling them "Diana vs." I opted for "Me vs.".. Hi everyone, how you've been?  Welcome to my first trendy Tuesday (#TrendyTuesday). Here are my outfits created from the 30 pieces I chose for the 30x30 remix challenge for the 1st week. Since May started on a Thursday, this week only has two days. Today was a nice day, we had the HMM at Mac's place and Avi had a really good time, as did I.  It was Addys birthday and we celebrated with cake and margaritas! delish!! I took my camera so I took plenty pics of the everybody, but leider none of me. Hope everyone has an excellent week! For our first trip of the year w we traveled to Schwerin, which is a little town(?) half way from here to Berlin. We had been planing to go there for a while now, we took advantage that Pablo's friend came to visit from San Francisco, and invited some other friends to come also  and hopped on a train! Schwerin is famous in the North for its castle. the city its self has a story, but I didn't catch it. Here are some pictures from our trip. Until later,
