Happy Easter! I decided to do a recap of my usual end of the month posts. What we've been up to: We spent Friday morning at home, and then went to the movies in the afternoon, #BatmanVsSuperman. Saturday we went for the first time to the Dom, more about that coming in my ABC's of Hamburg Series in April. Sunday morning was spent with friends and their kids. What we did for Easter: Two years ago when we were planning our first egg hunt in Germany we discovered that those refillable plastic eggs are not easily available here.   Fast forward two years and many eggs being brough from the US. We finally have enough to have a fun easter egg hunt with around 200 eggs for approx. 25 kids.  Granted, some of those were Kinder Überaschung (suprise) eggs and I took 15 confetti filled eggs. I figured I'd post Pablos questions for  February’s The Guy Behind the Blog on Feb 29th, since that's this month's theme and because you know, I forgot to do it on the atcual date this was supposed to go live. This year is Leap Year — what are you going to do to celebrate?  Nothing If you could create an obscure holiday, what would it be and why? None. Hey, so I was doing the guy behind the blog posts a while back but then I stopped and I decided to give it a go again this month. Our Oktoberfest birthday party was a success, A bunch of friends came to our house to celebrate Pablo's birthday. I had to go shopping on Friday because Saturday was a national holiday and the stores were closed .. Here's what I bought to serve during our party.. it included. 20 pretzels, 18 leberkaese slices, 16 white sausages, two obatzer, one "Brot Creme" Bread cheese, one sweet mustard, and a package of sauerkraut. I had to buy two mini kegs (because they're not as a big as a regular keg, but they still hold around 15 beers each) but  I bought one in the morning and one in the afternoon  to much stuff for me to carry in one trip. Ones the tables were set we were just waiting for the guests to arrive and the party started. Avi the photographer helped with taking some of the pictures, I should really learn how to set it correctly before handing it off to her. Today is Pablo's birthday! I wanted to do a special timeline picture with photos from past birthdays together, but I only gathered three pictures, so maybe sometime in the future instead.. For now we celebrate, we have a lot planned this week; the main things being: we want to do a taquiza with his work mates, dinner with friends,and we're throwing our own Oktoberfest party . It's that time of year again.. Pablo's birthday, and this year is special (to me, because) he's turning 28 on the 28th!  This is the first year we have a big enough house to host a party, so I told him to invite all his friends and coworkers. I was going to surprise him by telling everyone it would be an Oktoberfest themed party and come dressed up and everything but I gave in and told him too, it's too good to not include him.  The 192nd Oktoberfest started in Munich on September 19th. People from all over the world are meeting in Bavaria for two weeks from dawn till dusk. We're a little sad that we haven't been able to go, but our Oktoberfest party will be making up for it (for now) . I didn't participae in June's link up because the end of the month just flew past me, top think I don't even remember what we were doing. I would have missed July's too, given that we were on vacation, but I checked my Bloglovin feed today and saw that I still had time. Here are five things that have happened in the past week, to keep you up to date. Pablo's graduation It was such an amazing thing, and a bit boring, but being that it was held in German it kept me awake trying to follow along and everything.   Me on Facebook: yesterday was Pablo's graduation ceremony (3 hours long) and at the begining we couldn't find him when they entered the auditorium to take their place and Avi was bummed. :/ 2 hours later when it was his turn to stand in line to get his diploma Avi finally saw him and was happy waving at him... He was actually the third one in line (from his study program) but the first two were absent and they called their names and nobody went... but when they finally called Pablos name we started cheering for him and then Avi yells really loud "PA-PAA" and everyone started laughing and while we were in line for the buffet a lady asked if she was the little girl who yelled "papa" and tha...

October is a couple of days away and I hadn't posted a single menu plan this month, I had been keeping track of everything, I just wasn't sharing it here on the blog.  This past weekend was special since Pablo celebrated his 27th birthday yesterday.   Saturday he attended a seminar that a friend from Monterrey was giving at his University, after that we went to eat with him and some other Mexican attendees. We ended the night with a couple of beers at the Harburg Wein Fest. Sunday was Verkaufsoffener Sonntag (open sale Sunday). but we started the day at my friends house where we ate a cake we had made on friday, and left there to be refrigerated since ours is too small.. Then we went to a Mall and spent the day there. In regards to what we're eating: I'm still sticking to the usual, but a neighbor offered to take me 'grocery' shopping and show me which meats to buy since the only one I trust myself buying is ground beef. ...
