Diana Elle Blog

I have decided to change my domain and blog name. This blog will still be the same one, I will continue to post about the same topics. I just wasn't feeling the need of having a different domain and blog name. so I changed it up and now they're the same. You might have noticed me leave comments as " Diana Elle " reccently. Now you know why I did it. I wanted to put my full name but that domain was already taken, and Diana L. is not an option, so Diana Elle was born. You can bookmark my new URL: www.DianaElleBlog.com I am still available on Bloglovin, but now under Diana Elle Blog . Five Friday Favorites and a diy ghost decoration

Image
I figured I haven't posted enough this month so i'm ending the day with a five on Friday post. here are five things that have been happening recently: 1) No School That's right, school started last month and we already have our first couple of weeks off, they call it herbst farien  (Fall Break). But since Pablo is using up his vacation days in December we weren't able to go on vacation. instead we've been doing things around the city. 2) DIY Ghost Decorations Like we usually do when Avi doesn't have class we went to storytime at the library. But this time since it's close to Halloween they ladies had a craft prepared for the kids (and adults) to do in between the two books they read. I'm sharing the material list and steps with you: Materials: Aluminum foil sheets Tissues/Napkins String Permanent Marker. Directions: 1. Start with the ghost's head, by making a ball with an aluminum foil sheet. 2. Place the ball in the cente

Halloween Costumes

Image
I'm linking up today with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday. Today’s topic is Costumes! And I'm doing a little throwback and showing you some of ours. :) 2010 When Avi turned one we dressed her up as a beautiful little butterfly. We took her trick or treating for the first time and she had a lot of fun. She got really excited when she got candy after ringing the doorbells.  2011 In 2011 I don't remember what she wore while trick or treating, we went trick or treating with my brother and his kids, but I don't seem to have any pictures of that.. This one I posted is from her Elmo themed birthday party . and this next one is of Pablo and me at a friends Halloween party that year. 2012 Our first Halloween in Germany, I had barely been here for three weeks so we didn't do anything. 2013 We found out kinda last minute that they do go trick or treating here, so we went downstairs and borrowed clothes from our landlords' "dress up&quo

Where I blog

Image
Today I'm giving you another home tour and showing you where I blog. It used to vary a lot, in our old home I used to blog from the couch, currently I blog from the living room. It's not the same though, because I no longer do it from the couch. I was using Pablo's desk for a while, but then we got a new kitchen table and I brought the little one to the living room and placed it right next to his. While I was still using Pablo's desk I used the little one to make the puzzle we bought while in Munich. as you can see we still haven't bought a frame for the puzzle so it's still on the table. I like how it looks though.  I mentioned this in my home tour part 1 post, but we have not decorated the walls, I don't know if we plan on doing it, maybe later.  Where do you usually blog from? Blog Buddies Reveal - Global Munchkins

Image
Early August I signed up at Keeping up with Ashley and Cody for her blog buddies program , I had previously done the bigs and littles and thought this would be a great idea.  I was paired up with Amber from Global Munchinks and I think it was a good match, she loves traveling with her family (as do I) and it was nice to get to know their story. Facebook  -  Twitter  -  Instagram Amber’s favorite blog posts: Her first adoption story  (it was actually the first post of hers I read) Travelogue day 6, Paris Final prep and Ethiopia Itinerary . List the top 5 Cities You've Visited and Why. Arbegona, Ethiopia- Gorgeous green lands with waterfalls and streams. I love the contrast to what people typically assume Africa would look like (brown/ dry). Ubud, Bali- Artsy, lush, amazing food and awesome people. Rome, Italy- The history, gelato and a cultural that loves to be social. Paris, France- I loved being able to experience Paris for myself and we just had

Enchildas Suizas (& Meal Plan)

Image
Hi everyone! I hope you had an awesome weekend and are having a good Monday! There are certain ingredients that I  wish were more readily available here in Germany . But we just have to live without them.   So when a friend gave us some maiz (corn) tortillas he brought back from Spain, we were particularly excited. I've added them to this week's meal plan and a few additional recipes that include corn tortillas. I took advantage and went to a store (not so close to our house) and bought green salsa to make my favorite enchiladas, but first, our meal plan: What we're eating: Sunday: Enchiladas Suizas Monday: Mac & Cheese, The homemade version Tuesday: Tacos Wednesday: Migas con Huevo (corn tortilla fried in tiny pieces and then add eggs to the mixture) Thursday: Chicken Parmesan Friday: Pizza Saturday: Currywurst I had previously shared the recipe on here but I figured I'd re share it and add the corresponding pictures. I need to t

Third Expatversary

Image
We first stepped foot in Europe on October 9th 2012. Pablo had already been here for two weeks, so I knew what to expect based on what he had told me. I was a bit concerned, but excited for this new chapter in our lives. I still remember it like it was yesterday, and I can't believe today marks three years living in Germany.  Our second year in Germany was similar to our first one, it involve visiting new countries, and even a trip to the hospital, to sum it up: Avi's accident happened and it led to a month long stay at the hospital . Pablo wrapped up his masters program at the beging of December and we left for Mexico the day after. We had a 16 hour layover in NYC  on our way there and it was the best thing ever! Over all we were extra happy we got to spend  a month visiting our family  since we hadn't seen them since 2012.  We came back to Germany and moved to Kaiserslautern . Found out that Kaiserslautern was not a good city for us (no kindergarten for Avi?

Pablo's Oktoberfest Celebration.

Image
Our Oktoberfest birthday party was a success, A bunch of friends came to our house to celebrate Pablo's birthday. I had to go shopping on Friday because Saturday was a national holiday and the stores were closed .. Here's what I bought to serve during our party.. it included. 20 pretzels, 18 leberkaese slices, 16 white sausages, two obatzer, one "Brot Creme" Bread cheese, one sweet mustard, and a package of sauerkraut. I had to buy two mini kegs (because they're not as a big as a regular keg, but they still hold around 15 beers each) but  I bought one in the morning and one in the afternoon  to much stuff for me to carry in one trip. Ones the tables were set we were just waiting for the guests to arrive and the party started. Avi the photographer helped with taking some of the pictures, I should really learn how to set it correctly before handing it off to her. If you go to any Hofbrauhaus and order apple juice they will serve it in a beer mug (
