How I cook Baked Ziti

Image
I have a favorite dish, but unfortunately I am unable to make it here (in Germany) since it is difficult to get the ingredients. So I make my second favorite,  Baked Ziti .  I first tried it while in training at Sutherland Global Sources, one of the guys in our group was a Chef so he did this and brought it for us, I loved it!!  Today I will be sharing this recipe with you, I use the one in  All Recipes  as a guide, but I make some changes. If you have never tried this you could do it and hopefully enjoy it as much as we do here at home! :) INGREDIENTS: 1 pound [500 g] Cooked Ziti Pasta (or Penne) 1 pound [500 g] ground beef  1 jar tomato sauce 1 can pizza sauce 15 ounces [your favorite] cheese 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup Sour cream 2 tablespoons butter 1/2 teaspoon pepper 8 ounces mozzarella, thinly sliced DIRECTIONS: [This is the way I prepare it, you can click on the links within this post for different versions.] In a large sk

How I fill a Travel Edition Liebster Post.

Image
Hi all, so truthfully my blog still hasn't really been nominated for the Liebster award (wink, wink), but it was an open invitation from Foreign Geek who nominated all her readers for a Liebster Award (Travel Edition) + A Giveaway. There are different versions of this award, basically fill out [11] questions from your nominator and in turn nominate other bloggers with the purpose of sharing your blog and other great ones with the world. 1. What gave you the travel bug? Hubby received a scholarship to do his masters in Germany, we are taking advantage & visiting around since moving within Europe is not that expensive! 2. How has travel changed you? I don't think it has, well, maybe. I guess it let's me appreciate more of random stuff. 3. What was your biggest travel blooper? Can't think of that at the moment. 4. Where are you going next? We will be doing a "Euro Trip" next month with my sister, who will be visiting us!! 5. Why do you

Hi, happy Tuesday y'all. This past weekend was incredible! It was nice, sunny, and warm; we stayed outside a good amount time eating plenty of ice cream! This #TrendyTuesday I will let you know what I wore last week, as you may have noticed i have only been posting five outfits per week, that's because I am only doing it Monday - Friday... Day 13: All brown :) Day 14: Leggings & dress. Day 15: Jean shorts with Pink top. Day 16:  Green skirt with plaid shirt Day 17:  Black pants & yellow shirt. After a very nice sunny couple of days we go back to rain, with the occasional thunderstorm, but I guess that's how it is here, which in a way is good since we don't have the sun waking us up at 5:30 a.m. on the dot! I hadn't had the chance to upload the pictures for last weeks outfits to the computer and since I still don't have the pictures, I will be just letting you know what it is I wore (& updating the post with pictures later). Day 9: yellow sweater, colored scarf, jeans Day 10: blue shirt, pink pants. Day 11: Blue pants, green shirt & vest. Day 12: All blue :) & so I hope everybody had a good week and has a safe weekend, are you up to anything special?

How I finally have some sun!

Image
It's the middle of the week and I thought I'd update you guys with happenings in our lives. There are so many random things I thought I'd combine them into one post. Nice Weather I finally have some sun and with it comes some hot weather, which in an a/c less world is not that cool! haha. At the moment I am definitely not complaining, Avi spent yesterday and today playing in the garden with our neighbor, Rosa, and they took advantage of the weather and turned the sprinkler on-at least they get refreshed!  Mall time We stopped by the mall today after I picked Avi up from kita, they have a little "get prepared to go to the beach" corner and Avi enjoyed her time there. Sometimes she cooperates and has a good time at the mall other times we just spend a half hour at their coin machines. #TrendyTuesday I am still doing the 30x30 challenge I just did not get to upload yesterdays #TrendyTuesday post since I don't have the pictures of the weeks&

How I remixed my second week.

Nothing new or unusual this last week, a few days were cloudy with some rain the only thing I added to my outfits was a light jacket and an umbrella.  Here are week one's outfits in case you hadn't read my previous post & without further ado, here is my week two #TrendyTuesday update: I am stuck on outfits! since I didn't really choose that many shirts/cardigans. I separated more dresses which is " nicht so gut fuer dieses Wetter" (not so good for this weather) .  I'll take the weekend to swap some out for shirts to use.in hopes that I can use the dresses by the end of the month! :) Bis zum naechstes mal!

How I tell you more about me.

Image
This morning I will tell y'all a little more about me.  I moved to Mexico when I was 18. I had just completed my first year of college and decided I needed a break so I went to Monterrey "to visit."  At first I lived with my Godmother (& her family) who was nice enough to let me stay in her home. Her oldest daughter was 13 at the time, so she was getting a head start in what it would be like when she was a little older!  Anyways, I found a job, I started in July and decided I would like to stay longer than just the summer.  I stayed at my aunts house. Around a year/year and a half later I moved into my brothers house & in the weekends Pablo & I would stay at my mom's house. In December his family invited me to go with them on vacation and then when we came back I moved into his parents home.  In 2012 he was offered a scholarship to move to Hamburg, Germany and we've been here since, waiting to find out what is in store for us in

How I spent Sunday.

Image
So today was a good day! I spent the morning in the kitchen & on the computer.. I was saving recipes on a "recipe sheet" template that I got from google docs.. I added like 5 new ones that I got from emails I subscribe to! I love expanding my weekly recipes, feel free to email me your favorite one, if you really recommend it and would like for me to try it out. I've also been going over the FLYLADY's Emails and now have a morning and evening cleaning routine, especially in the kitchen, that little room is now clean & I have started using it as my "office"! I will dedicate tomorrow & Tuesday to cleaning the living room. I am hoping that since I am not using it, it can stay clean longer, but doubting it since all of Avi's toys are there. At least she knows that the toys she doesn't put away will be taken away for X amount of time. It was raining today.. and after eating dinner I looked out the window and saw a rainbow!

Hi everyone, how you've been?  Welcome to my first trendy Tuesday (#TrendyTuesday). Here are my outfits created from the 30 pieces I chose for the 30x30 remix challenge for the 1st week. Since May started on a Thursday, this week only has two days. Today was a nice day, we had the HMM at Mac's place and Avi had a really good time, as did I.  It was Addys birthday and we celebrated with cake and margaritas! delish!! I took my camera so I took plenty pics of the everybody, but leider none of me. Hope everyone has an excellent week! Bis Später,  Btw, I have a newly created facebook page, feel free to join in  on the fun!

How I visited Stade

Image
Happy Travel Tuesday! I'm going to talk about Stade today.. but before I do let me tell you that Verkaufsoffener Sonntag (Open Sale Sunday?) happens four times per year and on 04. Mai (May 4th, 2014) all the stores were open in Stade Stade is a part of the Hamburg metropolitan region and located on the lower Elbe river. If you have a monthly ticket that covers Großbereich Hamburg with HVV you should be able to visit Stade without paying extra. Since we hadn't visited the city and had heard so many great things (our landlords used to live there a while back), I convinced Pablo we should go and we did! Here are some pictures from our day trip: SpiderAvi! I packed us a picnic to eat while there, but since all they had were open air stores, we were freezing. May weather in northern Germany is sometimes not what it's supposed to be! There wasn't much sun and a lot of wind, which made it chilly! All in all it was a really pretty city. We got to

Start of a new month, hopefully a new journey.

Here we are, May 1st, only weeks away from summer, we have our vacations coming up.  Flights are booked, now we just need to book hotels, airbnb to the rescue!  so if you've read my bio you should know that I have a degree in International Commerce, which I received in 2012.  A little after graduating we moved to Germany & four months later I did  an internship in online marketing, which was cool but it only lasted six months.  S o I haven't really had an opportunity to work in my profession (& the language  barrier   doesn't  help much).  I haven't been able to find a job yet, since the ones I've found require German, & I still don't have enough to get me through an interview. :/  I have been going to German classes since last October and they have helped me a lot.  Now I must continue searching for a job  in hopes that I can find one soon, this is crucial, especially if we want to stay in Hamburg after Pablo graduates. So, if you know anybod
