Five Friday Favorites - Strawberries, Family & More

Image
Here are five things that have happened in the past week, to keep you up to date. Pablo's graduation It was such an amazing thing, and a bit boring, but being that it was held in German it kept me awake trying to follow along and everything.   Me on Facebook: yesterday was Pablo's graduation ceremony (3 hours long) and at the begining we couldn't find him when they entered the auditorium to take their place and Avi was bummed. :/ 2 hours later when it was his turn to stand in line to get his diploma Avi finally saw him and was happy waving at him... He was actually the third one in line (from his study program) but the first two were absent and they called their names and nobody went... but when they finally called Pablos name we started cheering for him and then Avi yells really loud "PA-PAA" and everyone started laughing and while we were in line for the buffet a lady asked if she was the little girl who yelled "papa" and tha

Strawberry Season

One week into our return to Hamburg and a friend invited us to go strawberry picking, how can I say no, it was perfect timing!  It was the first time we went strawberry picking and it was a nice outing for Avi and her friends (and a good time for us moms too) Here are some pictures I took: She loves this toy and even pretended that the letters were strawberries and she'd go "picking" in her room.. when I told her we would go actual strawberry picking she was thrilled and brought it with her.. You Probably Don't Know..

Image
Helene announced a one day link up and I thought it was a good idea, I'm going to say a couple of things that I haven't already (in my many personal posts ), with information you probably don't know... - You can find Dr. Pepper in Germany but it's more expensive than coke/pepsi so I only buy it when I'm craving "comfort food." - I talk in my sleep and sometimes if you ask me something I will respond to you as if I were awake. - I can't roll my tongue. For the life of me, and trust me I've tried plenty of times. - I love Chocolate. Always have and probably always will, even though I might not be eating it as often as I did when I was little. - My College plan was actually three years, but I did it took me an extra two trimesters because I decided to have a baby in the middle of it. - I had a burst appendix a day after my birthday in 2012 so I spent my first new years eve abroad in the hospital. Don't worry the nurse still offered m

The Circle Link up - Summer Staples

Image
A little background: did you know that  burn victim s aren't supposed to be out in the sun until their skin is completely healed (which takes up to two years)? Well its true, I didn't know this, and had to find out the hard way, and for now we have to take extra care of the skin, so apart from compression garments we need sunscreen and UV clothes, Some of our summer staples will cover that and the rest are things that shouldn't be missing in our bags this summer. summer staples by Diana L. featuring Influenster's #NurtureVoxBox But anyways, some of the items that we need this summer are: **  Hada Labo Tokyo Ultimate Anti-Aging Facial Mask . ** Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen (Sensitive) -  We need this especially since it is summer and the sun is out almost daily, which is not good for Avi because she loves spending time outside and this will definitely help protect her skin. ** ATTITUDES Shampoo - I'm excited to try this new shampoo du

That time we were going to visit Mannheim (& the time we did)

Image
Picture this.. we go to the bus stop and it turns out we got there 3 minutes to late so we had to wait 15 minutes for the next one... then I notice Pablo didn't have his wallet so he goes back home to pick it up while Avi and I stay there.. All is good, we get on the bus and once we reach the train station we go to catch our train.. While on the train I notice that I don't have my wallet (I hadn't needed it since  we traveled with Pablos's Job ticket ) but we did need my wallet because I had Pablo's card in it and he didn't have any cash on him. So we got off at the next stop, Hochspeyer, and took the next train to Kaiserslautern.  By the time we got home it was lunch time, so we decided go grocery shopping and reschedule the trip for another day instead. A little background on Mannheim : it is an interesting city that lies in the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is the third largest city in BW, after Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. The highlight

Bigs and Littles Network

Image
A partnering of bloggers to teach, learn and grow that lasts two months. In the Bigs & Littles Blogging Network big & little bloggers are matched together. Throughout this program you will have the ability to build a new friendship, share experiences, teach and learn. Sometimes in the beginning days of our blogs we were frustrated, we just need a little blogging advice. This is something that we feel never changes, yes our blogs have grown, but with that comes a whole new set of issues that arise. If you are looking for a way to meet someone to share advice and someone to lean on through your blogging experience, then this may be the perfect program for you. To be honest, I think I chose the worst day and time to post this, its Friday night for me and by the time I post it it is probably Friday night for you or Saturday morning.. and who spends Friday night reading blogs (besides me, maybe) anyways? hehe, but I couldn't let this slip by another day since the link u

A day trip to Heidelberg

Image
I've decided to catch you up on what we did in the cities we visited near Kaiserslautern while living there.  The first day trip we took was to Mannheim, but it was a quick one, we had an appointment at hospital and that's basically all we did, so it doesn't really count since Avi and I didn't do much exploring. But it all changed once Pablo got his job ticket the first place we wanted to see was Heidelberg, since many people had mentioned this pretty city and its castle to us. With recommendations like that what more can you ask for!? As soon as we arrived we took a bus to the Altstadt (which was the last stop) and looked for a place to eat. Then we walked around and made the hike up to the castle's garden for what could have been a great view of the city, if only we had visited on a non-rainy day! Here are some random snapshots from the day: and a sideways one so you can do today's neck exercise :). we focuse

My Travel Bucket List

Image
A while back I posted a Harry Potter Walking tour by LONDON WALKS, but I opened that post with my bucket list, since it was that weeks' travel tuesday prompt. but I feel like I didn't do the bucket list part justice. and I don't know if you noticed, but I've shared many bucket lists lately, so rewriting my european bucket list seems like a good thing to do, i've seen a ton of posts featuring my cities, and including some of them within this post. I will be re-sharing my European [travel] bucket list. This is my bucket list of places to visit in Europe. I won't be planning anything other than this since we don't know if we'll be traveling to Asia anytime soon, or if we'll be going to Seattle anytime soon either (even though I'd love to). Vienna, Hallstatt, and Salzburg, Austria All three of these are on my list, i'm prioritizing on Vienna, and seconds to Salzburg, and I'd like to visit the castle there. Budapest,
