The Move

Image
Last November when we found out we would be moving I started looking for moving companies, but all the quotes I received were between 1750 - 2,000 eur, and we didn't think the stuff we had back then was worth that so we opted for donating most of it and selling some pieces at very low rates.  This time around it was different, since we had recently bought all our furniture  and not something we could easily return or donate; especially in a city were I had yet to meet anyone. I took advantage that while I was searching forn an apartment online I found  links that said things like "interested in  __% off on your move?" and I sadi sure why not, clicked the option, put in the details they requested and was contacted by many different moving companies. We checked their options and double checked all of their reviews and quotes and we finally opted for one of them,  it would cost us around 950 Euros, way better than the quote I had received last time. Blogger Men tell all - What would he rather?

Image
Today I'm linking up with Blogger Men tell all and talking about Pablo, this is not the first time I talk about him on here, but I thought it'd be nice to join in with this link up.  This months prompt is "w ould you rather," you might recall my most recent post Would you rather travel edition , but this time he'll be the one answering the questions, so you could get to know him a bit more. Would you rather ...Watch Star Wars or Star Trek? Star Wars. ...Take a summer vacation in the mountains or the beach? Beach. you can always have a nice time at the beach. ...Use Facebook or Twitter? Neither, but Facebook is better than twitter in my opion. Me: yeah, he's more of a 9gag person. ...Go camping or stay in a nice hotel? Stay in a nice hotel, I like comfort and camping is the complete opposite of that. ...Watch sports or play sports? emm play, but I like watching sports too. Two for One!  Since this is the first time I'm

Fourth Month in Kaiserslautern {by the numbers}

Image
Our fourth (and last) month here was a packed one (see what I did there) and well I have to say that I really did enjoy our time here, I'm sad I didn't get to meet anybody from this area, but we have some great memories, thanks to Kaiserslautern central location.  We got a lot done during our last month here, here's what it entailed: One  day spent at Gartenschau. That's right, I had posted so many teaser pictures of this place since it's practically outside our door. We took advantage and finally went inside. It was very fun, a part from the many blooming flowers we go to see, there was a Lego exhibition and a medieval festival going on. Nine days in Hamburg I left Kaiserslautern May 5th to begin apartment hunting and we came back to start packing nine days later.  Six apartment viewings. Six is a small number in regards to what I was doing, but five out of the six where a viable option for us #NoComplaints. One new apartment We got the last

This Weeks Meal Plan.

Another three day weekend for the win. As you are reading this post we are off exploring Luxembourg, we found a day ticket for 35€ and are taking advantage of our last weekend in the area. You can follow me via Instagram  @xxdinlo88 for some snapshots of this city! Wait, but don't I have to be packing? Well yes, I do, but almost everything except the big stuff has been packed (we'll be taking it apart midweek) before the movers come at the end of the week. For now, here's what we'll be eating this week, such a shame I didn't meet any locals to teach me what a traditional meal in Rhineland Pfalz looks like, but I'm okay ...For now. Here's my Menu Plan for this week: 5/24 - 5/30 Lunch Dinner Sunday Eating out Out or Chicken Parm Monday Chicken Nuggets Picadillo & Spaghetti Tuesday Baked Ziti Tacos Wednesday Pizza Chicken with Veggies Thursday Hamburgers Buffalo Chicken Friday Spaghetti Bolognese Leftovers Saturday Pasta Homemade

The Circle Link Up - May 2015

Image
I signed up to participate Kiki's the Circle link up late March and last month was the first time I participated (I posted my reverse bucket list ). This month the theme is Spring15 Mood Board, but it doesn't necessarily have to be about spring, basically any mood board with 15 items (or at least, that's what I did) is okay. At first I had no clue of what I would add to mine, but after looking around through Pinterest , I figured I'd do some inspiration for decorating our new place. Keep in mind this is the first mood board I ever do. I had no clue of where to start, many people mentioned using picmonkey, but I didn't have time to download pictures and them added them back so I used olioboard instead. Like I mentioned above, I chose decorating our new place as my theme, you might think what's in it is super random, and it probably is, but it has something that belongs in most rooms. If you want more inspiration for making a mood board, you can vi

Five Friday Favorites.- Visiting cities & More!

It has been a great week, Mother's day was Sunday and yesterday was Father's day in Germany. I really should write about this because it's very different to what we're used to.. We didn't do a gift exchange because of the big move coming up, but we're okay with it.  Here are my five favorite things from this past week: - 1 -  A photo posted by diana L. (@xxdinlo88) on May 11, 2015 at 2:26am PDT It was raining so much our first few days in Hamburg while apartment hunting, I'm glad that stopped and we've been able to enjoy a couple of sunny days (and waking up at 6 am thanks to the early sunrise). - 2 -   Avi and I visited a lot of potential apartments, then Pablo took a couple of his vacation days to come be with us and we went to go see more, On Tuesday I received a call from one of the Makler that we got one of the apartments we had seen the day before, that was probably the highlight of the week! - 3 - A lot

What would you rather?

Image
I'm back! I hadn't posted at all in a week, because I was stuck without Internet. :/ but I'm good now, still in Hamburg looking for an Apartment and we're hoping to go back to Kaisereslautern by the end of this week. I saw this post on Isabel's blog the sunny side of this and it brought me back to those days were we would play this sort of game between friends... and today I'm answering these hypothetical questions of "would you rather." ... Scenario: you have a €10,000 budget for your vacation.  Q:  Would you rather  fly first class for €5,000 and stay in mediocre accommodation; or stay in luxury accommodation for €3,000 and fly economy? How many days does 3k give me in luxurious accommodation? depending on that I might choose this option, since I would have more money to spend at my destination! But I have never traveled via first class and I've heard wonders about it so this might be the one I choose. Q:  Would you rather   have a
