Clothes Swap Party

Image
Need to get rid of clothes but don't want to go through the hassle of selling it? set up a clothes swap with a couple of other friends, trust me the outcome is good for everyone. I saw it first on pinterest and then a mom in one of my groups brought it up. After planning it out, we got together at a her house. She had prepared a little buffet table which some of the guests helped fill with finger food to share. We all took clothes we wanted to get rid of, whether it was clothes that no longer fits, we never wore or a color we never really liked. She had two long tables, a clothes rack, and a shoe section ready for us to fill. We started setting everything up, the before mentioned clothes might be good for someone else. Once everything was set we started "shopping" for new clothes. After we finished selecting a clothes we took a mini break to eat something, then once everybody was done (and before it was time to go) we all shared what we got, some la

Chilaquiles for the win!

Image
I haven't shared my meal plan on the blog since last year, the first thing I cooked when we got back from Charlotte was burgers, since I had bought a burger press before we left in December. The next day I cooked baked ziti, Avi had been asking for it since we were in Orlando (we had actually bought all the ingredients to make it there), but we never had time to make it since we got home late from the parks almost every time  Another thing that I made once we were here was Chilaquiles. It's actually a very simple recipe all you need are the ingredients in the image above, mix 'em in a special way and you're good to go, here's the recipe for you to make this! Ingredients 4 Chicken Breasts, cooked and shredded 1 pkg Tomato sauce 2 cups Shredded Cheese 1 bag tortilla chips 3-4 Chiles Directions: Blend the tomato sauce and chiles together until smooth. In a saucepan, heat the sauce until almost a boil, add the shredded chicken. Reduce to low heat an

Friday Faves

Itried to think up of Five things to share today, but I couldn't so I'm going to share a bunch of randomness divided into four categories. Five posts with the least number of views. I started organizing my blog posts, making new images for the old posts, as I finally found a good enough layout to use. As I was going to them and updating the main picture I noticed that some of my posts have very little views/ These are posts I have yet to do the image for, but I am leaving the links here in case you'd like to show one of these love. Also they were all pre-disqus so they don't have any comments, feel free to leave one: 21 views - 30x30 challenge week 4  -- I challenged myself to take part in the 30x30 challenge and recapped my fourth week. 24 views - SuperSunday VII at our place  --a get-together with my English-speaking moms group, but the partners are invited too! 29 views - Schwerin  -- Our first trip of the year was to visit Schwerin Castle, I talk very littl

The Story Box Review

Image
This trip we made to Charlotte was a good one, we got to see family members we hadn't seen in over three years, and my mom got to go there too. She was able to spend my birthday with me and visit a new city. Another good thing about being there was that I was able to receive the December box from a new company run by Holly and her husband Clint, called The Story Box . I was introduced to it thanks to Allison from Because I Said So . What is The Story Box? If you love reading and want to pass it on to your children, you will love The Story Box. It is a subscription box that delivers quality children's books to your house once a month. Mine was sent out on Dec 21 and I received it on the 28th, it was kind of like a birthday present, but focused more on Avi. Their boxes are appropriate for children ranging in age from 1-year old to about 7-years old. Everyone gets the same box. However, the first box a customer gets will include a special guide that discusses h

Happy New Year

Image
I'm back! It's only fair that the first post of the year (even if thirteen days after the first) wishes you a happy new year. We got back a week ago but it took me this long to get adjusted. Here are a few tidbits from my life during the past month that i've been "away:" Blog of the Month While I was away I got chosen for blog of the month at expat.com, click the image to read the interview. My Daughter I was finally able to register Avi for the upcoming school year, but she is not enrolled just yet, they have to check all the students then select a few and the rest get sent to the next school. I really don't know how it works, but I'm hoping she gets accepted to our first choice. The Blog I have an upcoming review for a new (to me) subscription box, check back Saturday to see what it entails.. Also, I'll be catching up with comments/commenting by the end of the week.  I'm thankful for all the lovely guest posts I had wh
