The Story Box Review

This trip we made to Charlotte was a good one, we got to see family members we hadn't seen in over three years, and my mom got to go there too. She was able to spend my birthday with me and visit a new city.

Another good thing about being there was that I was able to receive the December box from a new company run by Holly and her husband Clint, called The Story Box. I was introduced to it thanks to Allison from Because I Said So.

What is The Story Box?

If you love reading and want to pass it on to your children, you will love The Story Box. It is a subscription box that delivers quality children's books to your house once a month. Mine was sent out on Dec 21 and I received it on the 28th, it was kind of like a birthday present, but focused more on Avi.

Their boxes are appropriate for children ranging in age from 1-year old to about 7-years old. Everyone gets the same box. However, the first box a customer gets will include a special guide that discusses how to use the same book with kids of various ages (It's broken down into age groups: babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary).

The Books

In my box I received Boa's bad birthday and Jackhammer Sam.

Boa's Bad Birthday has a repetitive pattern in it's story; every character brings a different gift with a problem and as they put in the parent guide this book helps "facilitate prediction skills."

Jackhammer Sam talks about what construction workers do in a fun way-while rhyming! Which is something I really like to read.

Both of these books are great for us, as Avi can already detect certain words, and they helped us practice. I'm excited for her to start reading on her own!
