Who's your favorite travel partner?

Image
Happy Travel Tuesday! Today's prompt is "who's your favorite travel partner and what's your favorite trip with that person." I'm going to tell you about mine, with a twist. It may be a little obvious, but currently I have two favorite travel companions. I really enjoy all these new travel experiences together.  And love the fact that we have been traveling together for the past 7 years... My first (road) trip with Pablo was when we spent Christmas with his family in Charlotte, NC  back in 2008. It is one I will never forget, it was my first time visiting this city and I got to see a lot of it. The cool thing about spending christmas anywhere is that I get to spend my birthday there too, we had a packed schedule with many activities, my favorite being snowboarding for the first time! Our first trip with Avi was in 2009, also to Charlotte, but she was just a bump so i'm not going to count it, hehe. Our first trip as a family of three was to South ...

Y is for Yes.

ha, I did end up talking about "yes" who would've guessed? Here's another one from my drafts!  My middle sister got married in November of last year and in my opionon it was a wedding on a whim. We had been talking about what we were going to do since August. But they didn't officially get engaged until he formally asked her on Sept 8th.  Engagement photoshoot We were making plans for celebrating this very important day in her life, she had decided she would get married on my birthday, since we would all be there for the holidays.  I was really excited, since I had witnessed a couple of post-ceremonies here and really like their traditions so I wanted to incorporate what I could. ...but after checking with the officiator, and seeing that his schedule wouldn't work, they moved it up a month and got married on Nov 27th instead. By the time they chose a date they had only 15 days to get everything sorted out. So they d...

Christmas Eve for me.

Image
From one house to another, with food and more food, spending Christmas with the family can be a little hectic but we do it anyways. T his year we spent Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas Day with Pablo's family. We had a late lunch at Pablos parents house and then we were dropped off at my sisters place so we could go together to my grandma's house.  It was over two years since I had seen everyone so we had a really nice re encounter. The first part of Christmas Eve was spent with my mom's family, a fter spending some time with family members we hadn't seen in over two years (but we would be seeing again in a couple of days for my birthday!) we took off to my aunts house to meet up with my dad's side of the family.  Overall, we had a great evening, fun for the kids! although, my little sister got a little upset that we didn't wait for her to break the pinata, after all, she's one of the young cousins. We waited for midnight...

Funniest Memory from Childhood

Image
Day 14. So today's prompt in the blog everyday challenge is "What is the Funniest Memory from Childhood". I love my cousins. We always have fun when we get together,  So naturally many of my funniest childhood memories are with them.  There are so many funny memories, but some of them should not be posted on here or anywhere on the internet for that matter. Except, maybe when I recently brought it up in our whatsapp group and made everyone crack up for a while, hehe! And well, one of my funniest memories is when my cousin was visiting from Mexico and we didn't  have anything to do, so I decided we should start prank calling.  She didn't know about the neat *67 trick since it's not available over there. So I showed her how and told her what to say (this was the first time she'd heard of this)  I was holding in my laughter while she was talking with the other people. it was hilarious...  { via } ...Excuse me, do you w...

A homemade meal!

During our 15 day trip I was happy, happy that I didn't have to cook for a looong time, but now that we're back I gotta say that I sure did miss it.   During our stay in Italy we only ate lasagna once, our first day in Rome. I kept looking for places that served a good portion that wasn't so expensive (in Florence) but couldn't find one, so I was left craving it.  The day we got home I decided to have this for dinner, along with a salad and garlic bread.   I knew lasagna was the best choice since it is an  easy dinner, I just put it in the oven and waited, not much precooking on my end! The next day for lunch I decided to make spaghetti and chicken with broccoli, served with lettuce.  Once it was time to eat I couldn't help but say I missed it.   Sometimes I don't feel like cooking, but other times I have these tasty lunch ideas that I do it without complaining! Also, a while back I had asked y'all if you had any recipes fit for...

A day trip to Alnwick

Image
I wrote about our recent stay in Edinburgh for the #SundayTraveler link up this past sunday. Today I am linking up with Travel Tuesday and writing about Alnwick. We stayed in Edinburgh for two days, one of which we took a day trip via National Express busses to Alnwick, a city in England, around 2.5 hours away from Edinburgh and home to Alnwick castle. This castle is considered one of the great border castles of Scotland, and is the second largest inhabited castle in Great Britain (second only to Windsor Castle). It is home to the powerful Percy family, the Dukes of Northumberland. It is made up of two rings of buildings with a large bailey surrounding the inner ring. The castle also houses a very fine art collection, considered one of the best in the UK    and was featured in the Harry Potter movies as the setting of Hogwarts.

Me vs June.

I've thought it over and decided I will put my 30x30 challenge on hold until further notice. I was able to do 15 days, so I'm going to keep it at that, half the challenge complete; & later in the year I will do the second half.  At least I got through May!  ----------------- What I will be doing is linking up with #TravelTuesday  for the first time, Stay posted! I had tweeted that my post titles would be  related  to TV Shows, did you notice my May post titles?  Yeah, you got it, the show of the month was How I Met Your Mother !  During May I watched NBC's Chuck , it was a really good show. I could maybe write a post about it but It would contain spoilers, if you haven't seen it yet. Maybe I'll hold off on that til later.  Anyways,   that'll be June's post title inspiration. but instead of labeling them "Diana vs." I opted for "Me vs.".. Today I had half a homemade pizza for lunch, something simple since it was ...
