Universal's Island of Adventures.--What We Did

Image
We were all set, we had a plan, first things first, Harry Potter. So, as soon as we entered the park we walked straight to: The Wizarding world of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade. We took few pictures during this walk and went straight to the HP & the Forbidden Journey ride. we knew Avi wasn't going to be able to ride it and since it was only us three we decided to do the "single rider" line. The good thing about it is that you don't have to wait so long, but the bad thing is that we didn't get to "tour the castle," instead we took a short cut.  Pablo and I didn't mind so much since we had already been there, but this was Avi's first time so I asked if we could do the tour while Pablo was on the ride (instead of waiting in the child swap room) and they let us. Even though we did it backwards, it was pretty cool. We did a total of 30 minutes in this ride, from entrance to exit.  Once we got out we decided to ride on Flight of the Hi

The first thing we did as we walked through the gates was hop on the "future" ride. I got paired up with Avi and I read the questions to her and she chose the answers, she let me choose some of them so the future we got was a mixture of both of us. From there we headed towards the seas with Nemo & friends, but on our way I decided to stop by for a picture with Baymax. It was a longish wait time but we made up for it by talking to the people in front of us who gave us recommendations on what rides to do ASAP! We did the Nemo/aquarium ride & then went to the turtle talk show. As expected it was pretty funny, and Avi added to it: We then headed over towards the lake and bumped into Daisy. We waited in line while some of us went across the street to buy an autograph book from the gift shop (best $13 dollars spent), and then got her signature and took pictures with her. Universal Studios Florida

As I mentioned before, the first park we decided to visit during our six day stay in Orlando was Universal Studios. We got to the park as early as we could, we had purchased the tickets the night before and picked them up at the kiosks. As soon as we went inside we got our picture taken by one of the many park photographers.  We went straight to Shrek-4D. The attraction was different from what I remembered, the effects were actually pretty good, we all enjoyed it, especially the kids! From there we walked around to the Transformers ride, where everyone except my in laws and the baby got on, they walked around and sat in a nearby park area, while we did our thing. The waiting line wasn't so boring since they had a lot of things to distract us. The ride itself was so cool, we hadn't gotten on this one before, the down side was that I got dizzyish-this was a first! Luckily we had some dramamine and I took tablet afterwards, I wanted to survive the day without this happeni

A weekly budget of 70 euros

Alot of people have been asking me lately how it is we survive on a budget of 70€ per week. So, I figure I'd hop back on posting my meal plan on here detailing where it is the money goes. This will also serve as a comparison to what we were spending 16 months ago in Kaiserslautern. It's actually still the same, what changed is how often I go to the store! My meals are planned from Saturday to Friday. This works best since we do one big trip on Saturdays, where Pablo can help with carrying the things home!  This week is a bit different, since we went to a BBQ on Saturday and had friends over on Sunday. I still went to the store on Sat, I just didn't buy as much as I usually do. So instead we'll be using last week as an example. If you follow me on snapchat, you'll recognize some of our meals ;) Pasta/Bread QTY Price 45.53 Side Dishes QTY Price 20.36 Chips 1 0.99 0.99 Berliner 70g 1 0.49 0.49 Sandwich Bread 1 0.85 0.85 avocado 2 0.59 1.18 hamburg bun

What Theme Parks to Visit in Orlando, FL.

Image
Back in January we took a road trip from Charlotte to Orlando. The last time we had been in Orlando (January 2010) Pablo and I were able to go to the Universal Studios Resort and everyone else (including 1 y/o Avi just enjoyed doing "free" activities around Orlando. This time the whole family was planning on spending a couple of days in the theme parks, Disney included. (Backstory: Pablo is the baby of the family and that makes me the baby of his family too, haha) While discussing what we would be doing during this trip the "older adults" decided four nonstop days of theme parks was too much for them (and their kids). So they opted for going to the theme parks three out of the four days in Orlando. They needed to have a rest day. Going to Orlando - Choosing a Theme Park Walt Disney World: Four options, which park shall we choose? It that tough a choice since we all new what we wanted. something fun yet not to stressful -as if! We opted for Magi
