A Harry Potter walking tour [+Bucket List]

Image
Happy Travel Tuesday! I had a lot of fun in our recent trip to London, the walking tour we took taught us so much, I really do recommend taking one on your first time visit to any city! But that wasn't the only one we took. We I didn't book tickets to the WB Harry Potter studios so we missed out on that big time. Instead, I booked us a Harry Potter themed tour with London Walks. Want to know what that entails? Read on! But first, since today is the last tuesday of the month and I'm, taking part in the Travel Tuesday Link up, I figured I'd include a little bit of today's theme in this post... WHAT'S IN YOUR BUCKET LIST? This got me thinking, and while we have visited most of the cities that are in our European bucket list. We still have quite a few to go, I’m listing the ones that were in our original list, you can also find my European Travel Bucket List in its own post. I wish to visit these cities at some point in the (near) future. While

Happy Sunday! So later today we'll be going to meet up with other english speaking families in the northern part of Hamburg, it'll be fun! In todays post I will be talking about our recent visit to Montparnasse in Paris. After we took the walking tour we bought a ticket to go up; we figured it was a better option than going up the eiffel tower because we would be able to capture the tower amongst other Parisian beauties!

A Meal planned out.

Wow the things I find. So the other day I was surfing the web and bumped into a Monday link up called #MealPlanMonday . Today will be my first day joining, if you're visiting my blog via the link up let me know so I can see your meal plan for the week!  I usually go shopping every third day, we have a small fridge so can't hold a lot of food. I usually buy what I need for three to five meals.

A London tour.

Hello & Happy Sunday to you!! We are more than half way done with July, only eleven days left, how was it been treating you? Lol, I'm in a good mood today & I will continue writing about our recent trip to London! I feel that even though the Harry Potter tour was better, I will post this one first since it happened first.  The New London tour lasted a little close to 3 hours and started at Covent garden. Our group was awesome, but I don't know if it was because our guide, Steph, made us introduce ourselves to someone on the tour we didn't know (we were all talking with each other instead of the usual mind your own and walk) or because everyone was around my age (haha, not really, a little younger) but still it felt nice. Godzillaa!!!!

A look around the city.

I didn't get to upload a travel post yesterday since I went to the HMM in  Eppendorf , but you can find my guest post on Cosmos Mariners, it is about a walking tour around Hamburg , hope you enjoy it! I marked the first six stops. Yesterday we were traveling a long way via bus and it got me thinking, if I continue going to these weekly meetings and they are in a different part of the city, maybe I could do a little review about it so my readers could see more of the city we currently live in.

A homemade meal!

During our 15 day trip I was happy, happy that I didn't have to cook for a looong time, but now that we're back I gotta say that I sure did miss it.   During our stay in Italy we only ate lasagna once, our first day in Rome. I kept looking for places that served a good portion that wasn't so expensive (in Florence) but couldn't find one, so I was left craving it.  The day we got home I decided to have this for dinner, along with a salad and garlic bread.   I knew lasagna was the best choice since it is an  easy dinner, I just put it in the oven and waited, not much precooking on my end! The next day for lunch I decided to make spaghetti and chicken with broccoli, served with lettuce.  Once it was time to eat I couldn't help but say I missed it.   Sometimes I don't feel like cooking, but other times I have these tasty lunch ideas that I do it without complaining! Also, a while back I had asked y'all if you had any recipes fit for four

A London recap

When visiting London for the first time you want to be prepared. In our case we only had three days to explore this city and wanted to make the most of it. We got to visit many different areas and some were even visited twice. Kathryne made me a detailed guide for our trip. With a short survey she made it fit to what we liked and wanted to see in each city.  We definitely took advantage of it and were guiding ourself with it as soon as we arrived. Our first full day there we took SANDEMANs New London Tour, which is the same one as the one we took in Prague & Edinburgh , but that'll be in a separate post.  During our free time (not with guides) in London we walked around the London Bridge and took pictures with the Tower bridge. Our hotel was in Greenwich, it was two stops away from London bridge when taking southeastern. Of course we wouldn't miss out on the fun and took a picture with the telephone booth with the big ben in the background.

A day trip to Alnwick

Image
I wrote about our recent stay in Edinburgh for the #SundayTraveler link up this past sunday. Today I am linking up with Travel Tuesday and writing about Alnwick. We stayed in Edinburgh for two days, one of which we took a day trip via National Express busses to Alnwick, a city in England, around 2.5 hours away from Edinburgh and home to Alnwick castle. This castle is considered one of the great border castles of Scotland, and is the second largest inhabited castle in Great Britain (second only to Windsor Castle). It is home to the powerful Percy family, the Dukes of Northumberland. It is made up of two rings of buildings with a large bailey surrounding the inner ring. The castle also houses a very fine art collection, considered one of the best in the UK    and was featured in the Harry Potter movies as the setting of Hogwarts.

A tour around edinburgh.

Here we are back in Hamburg and like I said I would be, I am so far behind on my posts, I am slowly going to try to get all caught up, posting my travel updates on tuesdays and or sundays. today is the first time I link up with the #sundaytraveler, it'll be nice to catch up with other travelers during the week! Today's post is about what we saw in Edinburgh, Scotland.  Edinburgh was a really pretty city I liked the stories I heard about it, the castle (even though we didn't get to go up to it), the food (talk about finding Frank's Red Hot in the supermarket), and our hostel room, it had a kitchen and sauna in the bathroom.. okay fine, maybe not an actual sauna, but it was hottt in there! There sure was a lot of good things happening here! We arrived to Edinburgh (or Edinbvrgh as paula, our tour guide called it) a little before 11 am on June 18th. We then went to the hotel, stopping on the way for food [Subway for the win]. After checking in and get
