I know I haven't posted anything in a while but I felt like I needed some time off. Lately I haven't had much free time, yet I haven't done much. Allow me to take you back and tell you what happened these past few months.. In July we took a trip to attend a conference in Boston and then stayed an extra week to visit the big apple. I loved getting to revisit this city and got to knock a lot of items of my NYC bucket list. Once we got back from our trip, Avi went back to her last week of school, and my cousin came to visit.. but I kinda screwed up and Avi ended up missing the last day of school (we took a day trip to Berlin instead). We had all of August free, and we took advantage of this (and a wedding in our hometown) and went to visit our family in Mexico. We had a packed two weeks in Mexico, during which we were able to catch up with a lot of friends, visit the BBVA Stadium and  Avi took an intensive swim course, she was able to get the basic done, but she...

When going from Europe to North America you get a couple of  moments that  require adjusting , but those are easier to adjust to. It's coming back from a trip to the states that makes me feel weird. it is good to be back home and I really appreciate our trip to the states we just had. but here's a recap of some differences between both places. I've noticed that over the past three years, more and more people are speaking Spanish in the states. Or maybe it's just because there are a lot of international people at the airports. Nonetheless, I am able to understand the people all around us... And it feels good to be able to explain myself clearly. Being in North America means everyone can understand us , and when Avi says "mom, I need to fart" in English. on a plane from Atlanta to Charlotte. the whole plane starts laughing (well at least the people around us)... I relax by listening to music. I clean while listening to music. Not a day goes by where I don't listen to music. Even if it's not coming from my phone there is music all around. In cars passing by or at the store are just a few examples. Having music while on the road is a must for me, so after talking to Turo and their adventure focused car rental team, it got me thinking about music. I will turn it on whether I'm ridding on a car, plane, or train. But not only that, I also listen to music at home, whenever I'm cooking you'll find me listening and singing along to music.. or watching netflix, but that's a story for another time, hehe. I recently shared my worry-free travel tips and today I'm going to share my Snapchat friend list with you. If you're not using snapchat yet then maybe this post will make you want to.  This app is like no other, photos and videos are recorded on the app and can be sent to a specific person or added to your story, the trick is they will only be there for 24 hours, after that they're gone! A while back, I saw that SimpliSafe, a maker of wireless security systems , was encouraging everyone to spread the word about worry-free travel tips. We all know I love traveling and getting to visit new places, we are currently in Boston for the first time thanks to a conference Pablo is attending. So I figured I'd join in and talk about the ways I like to keep my trips worry-free. Carry a universal travel adapter. We bring one adapter and an extension cable with the outlets so we can charge all our devices without much worry. Have a printed copy of your reservations. You don't want to arrive in a city and not know the name of your hotel or it's location! And yes, that happened to us over in Rome. we got off the train and didn't have the hotel information on us... Alot of people have been asking me lately how it is we survive on a budget of 70€ per week. So, I figure I'd hop back on posting my meal plan on here detailing where it is the money goes. This will also serve as a comparison to what we were spending 16 months ago in Kaiserslautern. It's actually still the same, what changed is how often I go to the store! My meals are planned from Saturday to Friday. This works best since we do one big trip on Saturdays, where Pablo can help with carrying the things home!  This week is a bit different, since we went to a BBQ on Saturday and had friends over on Sunday. I still went to the store on Sat, I just didn't buy as much as I usually do. So instead we'll be using last week as an example. Happy Easter! I decided to do a recap of my usual end of the month posts. What we've been up to: We spent Friday morning at home, and then went to the movies in the afternoon, #BatmanVsSuperman. Saturday we went for the first time to the Dom, more about that coming in my ABC's of Hamburg Series in April. Sunday morning was spent with friends and their kids. What we did for Easter: Two years ago when we were planning our first egg hunt in Germany we discovered that those refillable plastic eggs are not easily available here.   Fast forward two years and many eggs being brough from the US. We finally have enough to have a fun easter egg hunt with around 200 eggs for approx. 25 kids.  Granted, some of those were Kinder Überaschung (suprise) eggs and I took 15 confetti filled eggs. I'm excited to be featuring my favorite girl on the blog today! She has two weeks off of school (spring break-sort of) and we are taking advantage; not to the most of it since we aren't going on any big trip or anything, but we are getting a lot of playdates, time at the library scheduled in and we go visit dad at work (so we can play Foosball! :)
