Last day at Day Care.

Image
(This post was supposed to go live Friday, but it didn't.) I'm going to share a little bit of what they do to say goodbye to the students that will be leaving kita (daycare). Or at least, what they did at ours. At 9 am they had a big breakfast set up for the whole class. This was only for the kids, so I don't have any pictures of that.  Avi tells me they set up a really really long table and there was a lot of food, she ate cheese on bread with butter, and grapes. They asked us to arrive at 1 to pick them up. we were waiting outside and once all the parents were there they started. They named the child, announced what grade they are going to, said they were going to miss him/her,  and then "kicked them out" of the day care. Afterwards, we took pictures of the kids with the teachers. They all got a goodbye gift and the ones going to first grade get a Schultüte, which they take with them on their first day of first grade. We stayed a

Sisterhood of the world blogger.

Today I'm linking up with travel Tuesday and answering Christine's questions for the  Sisterhood of the world traveler award  that she nominated me for... 1. What is the story behind your blog name? it was kind of a last minute decision, when I first created this blog I had it's name as "No Title Yet" (very clever I know) and the RSS feed name as "Gzz Longoria in Germany"  and kept it at that for a long time, but then I started sharing my posts and decided to change the blog name, keeping the same url, I figured Life in German was a good choice since I am living in Germany and trying to learn the language. 2. If you had to give up your current passport and get another country's passport, which country would you pick? I think I would trade my passport for a German one, if we stay here long enough, we might have the opportunity to do this one day. 3. Where was the best meal you have ever had? in Mexico, anything there is good. 4. Is there any

What we're Eating this Week.

Image
Happy Monday, This week's menu plan includes 12 meals, I left two out since I usually have leftovers twice. Our usual meat is ground beef and chicken breasts, I'm excited to try out the Veggie and Cheese stuffed shells, as I bought the shell pasta back in Kaiserslautern but hadn't found a recipe yet. Don't forget to Link Up .. ... for the "What We're Eating" Link up. Add your weeks meal plan to the link up as I co host it temporarily. Don't forget to stop by other blogs, the one before you, the one after you or at random, and leave a comment! P.S.  I've created this weeks menu plan using Photoshop if you find a typo, I would appreciate it being pointed out to me so I can correct it for future posts TIA. Tweet

Back to School traditions

Image
* I'm getting nostalgic reading all the "back to school" tradition posts, and as our last day of pre-k and first day of Kindergarten approaches, I don't know if i'm nervous or excited.  We're taking a step closer to reach #classof2028, even though that is not how things are done here, I just want other class of 2028 moms to reach out! Hint, hint. The first day of school is done differently here than what i'm used to,from what I can remember,  I'll post more on that once the day finally comes. For now, I will tell you what some of my traditions are for this special day and some ideas I would love to incorporate.. Back to School Shopping I love going shopping for new school supplies, new clothes (especially for the first day of school outfit), and backpack. Meet the Teacher  I used to like going to "meet the teacher" day, it was a fun way to see who I got as a teacher and who my classmates were, as I got older to see if my fr

Back from Vacation, Here's my Menu Plan.

The last time I posted my meal plan on here I actually added more meals than I should have. We left for Munich Friday afternoon, so all those extra meals were passed on to the next week. Now that we're back in Hamburg I can go back to menu planning, and not eating out.  Here's our menu plan for the week; in a nice pinnable image: What's on your menu this week? Image
I didn't participae in June's link up because the end of the month just flew past me, top think I don't even remember what we were doing. I would have missed July's too, given that we were on vacation, but I checked my Bloglovin feed today and saw that I still had time. I'm posting it today, couple of day's into August.                                       Betsy's July's Guys Behind the Blog is all about food, here are Pablo's responses: 1.  What is your all time favorite food? Travel Fail from Füssen to Munich.

Image
Today I'm linking up with travel Tuesday with Sara's prompt of: " Although traveling can provide some of the best experiences/memories, it’s not ALWAYS fun and games. What is your worst travel experience? Or most embarrassing experience? Or biggest #travelfail? Where were you and what happened?" ...with the most recent travel fail. We spent this past Sunday isiting Füssen and the castles there (mainly Neuschwanstein) and it was a great day (more on that in a future post). We decided to head back to Munich no later than 7pm. By the time we got to the bus stop, to head to the train station, it was 7:05 and we had to wait around 10 minutes for the next one. We took it and arrived at the train station at 7:25 and saw that the next train was at 8:33. The sad news is that it was not a direct train, we would have to change twice, in _ and Geltendorf. But anyways, we had to wait an hour and were going to arrive at Munich's central station at 10:30 pm, so we decid
