We took two days off and visited the city of  Prague. if you haven't visited it, I suggest you go ASAP, it was easily the most beautiful city we have visited to date. Even though we only spent two full days there we were still able to see just about all of the main landmarks. We took an overnight bus (the   big yellow ones  with Student Agency) from Hamburg on Wednesday evening and arrived in Prague on Thursday at 6:30 a.m. First day in Prague We made sure to book our tours with SANDEMANs online before we left. We had a couple of hours free time in the morning, but our itinerary was quite packed. w e had three tours scheduled for the day: the free tour, the castle tour, and the beer tour.   A Museum (w/Harry Potter in the window) We spent the morning visiting an empty old town square.  Then went to find a place to chill and eat breakfast while we waited for our first tour to start. Übernachtung in der Kita. So, I received notice that they were going to be having an "overnight at kindergarten," to take place on a Friday.  They had school like always on friday, and then we were to drop them off at 17:30. They gave us a list of items to send with the kids. between them were: a flashlight and a favorite toy. Avi goes to sleep later than the other kids in her kita, so it was interesting to see how that would pan out, the teachers told us that it went well and she went to sleep with the other kids. We picked her up on Saturday morning, after eating a great breakfast that the parents organized. we then went home and enjoyed the day. What are your thoughts on this, do they do this with your kids kindergarten class? Easter Break just passed, hope everyone's was as cool as ours! We had the opportunity to spend it in Holland with our friend Carmen & her boyfriend, Joost. I uploaded the pictures of our trip on Facebook, but I am going to give extra details about what we did on this blog post. If you're here it's because you want to know what we did during our trip.  Our train ride over there was hectic, we bought our train tickets online and had reserved our seats, but on the first train we accidentally got on the wrong wagon so we had to walk through like 6 extra-crowded wagons to get on the correct one, and trust me doing this while trying to maneuver a stroller, is not an easy task. The second train, on the other hand, was spacious and almost empty so that was cool.  We arrived in Amsterdam and C&J picked us up, at the central station. So, I've been here for 5 months 10 days approx and I still only know very little German, I know around 100 words but with those I cant make out a real conversation.. I know how to say stuff but if i get a response I cant respond back.. :/ so we borrowed some kinder bücher  from our landlords so I can read them with Avi and learn more! :)  Source The one I was reading yesterday was “Die kleine Raupe Nimmersatt [the very hungry Caterpillar]” and when I read it the first time Pablo said he only half understood me.. which means.. I totally didn't read it correctly :/.. so today, I found a video of the book in german . One thing I know i'm going to love about living in Hamburg is that it is easy to move around Europe. Our first trip has been booked, we will be going this Easter break to visit my friend Carmen in Holland! we are going by train, taking advantage of the highly developed rail system Europe has. One of my favorite things to do while working is listening to music. I enjoy doing this online, I choose a radio station and listen to it, I get local news from a different part of the world depending on what station I listen to.  I've been doing this more and more lately, especially at work, it helps the day go by faster and it keeps me motivated. As you can probably tell I've decided to start a blog, but I don't think I'll be writing a lot just a few sentences here and there. Talking from a family of 3 on a student budget's point of view. They say it is recommended to keep a sort of diary while abroad, and this is how I will be letting you know how we manage to live our everyday expat lives with limited funds. I graduated with a degree in International Commerce last semester, and I need to learn German so that once I have work permission I can get a good job.
